IMPORTANT: You CANNOT begin working until you have attended orientation. Please select an orientation date before your scheduled first day of work.

Following the onset of COVID-19, while not required, if you would like to wear a mask it is encouraged. We are following safety and cleaning protocols to ensure everyone's safety.

Welcome to Sumner County Schools! We hope that you are looking forward to joining our team. New hire orientation is the final step in finalizing employment.

We will verify your I-9 documentation, so please bring that with you. A list of acceptable documents can be found here: https://sumnerschools.org/images/hr/i-9_acceptable_documents.pdf Popular examples are a passport or drivers license and social security card.

Additionally, we will collect a blank check or letter from your bank with routing and account number. Your photo will also be taken for your badge- so please keep that in mind. Once you have your badge, you are permitted to report to work.

You will receive an official offer letter at orientation with your hourly rate based off of information on your application and resume. If you have an associates, bachelors, or masters degree please plan to provide official transcripts within your first 7 days of employment.

If you are a transfer, you will not need to bring any of the things previously mentioned.

If you are a full time employee, you will attend benefits orientation. Please plan to stay for the entire duration. Both processes take less than two hours combined.

Our orientations begin promptly at their start time. Please arrive a few minutes early. If you are late or do not bring I-9 documents, you will have to reschedule your appointment.

If you have any other questions, please call our office at 615-206-4165 or contact Syble McGee at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
